This doesn’t fall within what I normally listen to as far as music goes, but I really like this song!

    Can you SnapFoo?

    By techmonkey | October 3, 2007

Thanks to Brad Williams, I have an opportunity to beta test his new SnapFoo website. I would describe SnapFoo as being similar to Twitter, except with pictures. I’ve been tweaking my settings and and have just started to upload a couple pictures. I even added a SnapFoo widget here on this site. I will do more of a full blown review sometime in the future after I have had more time to check out all the features. I can say that this definitely has potential and I think it will be a really fun site.

    Check out my SnapFoo page!

15,000 Music Tracks Scrobbled to Last.fm

    By techmonkey | September 30, 2007

I noticed that I recently surpassed the 15,000 music track mark on my Last.fm account! Most of the music tracks I post to Last.fm I listen to while I am at work. When I am in front of the computer at work and deep into some software development project, there is nothing like some hard rock and heavy metal to help me concentrate.

Godsmack - Batalla De Los Tambores

    By techmonkey | September 30, 2007

I know I have posted this before but I am trying to redo some of the previous posts that I lost. This is such a kick-ass drum sequence form Godsmack that I just had to post it again.

I have been a devout headbanger for almost 30 years and Godsmack is one of my all time favorite bands. During their live shows they perform a piece called “Batalla De Los Tambores” which is the “Battle Of The Drums”. It is a kick-ass drum sequence using two drummers that is absolutely awesome to see. Check out the video.

    Book - World War Z

    By techmonkey | September 29, 2007

A couple months ago I finished reading the book “World War Z - An Oral History Of The Zombie War”. It was recommended to me by my friend Linuxchic. I have to admit that I’m not a big reader by any means, but I really enjoyed this book.

    Book - World War Z

I think this description from Wikipedia summarizes the book well:

The book charts the war against the undead from global pandemic to mass panic, and then to the eventual armed struggle to reclaim the planet. Rather than a grand overview or a single perspective, World War Z is instead a collection of individual accounts, each revealing an aspect of the larger plot and simultaneously presenting a very personal tale. These different accounts take the form of interviews.

Yep, that’s right, Z is for “zombie”. The book is written with what I consider a realistic view of what things could happen if there ever were real zombies.

I really liked the way the book was broken up into small sections to cover the the various “interviews” in the story. This made it very easy to pick up even when I only had a few minutes to read. I think the overall story and the manner in which it was written is excellent. I would definitely recommend this book.

    Back From The Dead

    By techmonkey | September 28, 2007

DisturbedBrothers website had been down for the last couple of weeks. I am finally in the process of getting DisturbedBrothers back up and running. I am having to recreate the entire site. Getting shafted by a hosting company is no fun but it’s in the lawyers hands now.

This little task is giving me the opportunity to try out some new styles and play around with the layout and content of the site. I’ll just have to see how it goes. For those of you that follow this site, bear with any sudden changes I may make as far as the theme goes. May take a few tries to find the one I really like.
